What Are We Missing? Slavery In The Modern World

While innovation is actively changing the way that most of us live our lives for the better, we are still wrestling with a hidden reality that is hard to reconcile. More people are in slavery during this age of rapid advancement than ever before. Over 40 million people are currently trapped in different forms of slavery; some are subject to live stream abuse while others are trapped in bonded labour. Sometimes the fruit of this labour goes to create the products which drive innovation. So the question is, how? There is a massive disconnect between two realities (what are the realities?)that we all navigate each day, exposing and understanding this divide can be the starting point to solving the problem. With many innovations, the ideas that change the world are a response to something which is not working as well as it should be. 

So we need to ask ourselves, what is not working? How can there be 40 million people in the world who are trapped in slavery? The answers to the questions are challenging to implement and require us to utilize the influence and tools we have at our disposal in order to go after the elephant in the room. Impunity. Coming up with the solution to this problem might be one of the greatest contributions any of us will make in our lifetime.
