Philip Calvert
International Justice Mission Canada
Over 40 million people are currently trapped in different forms of slavery; some are subject to live stream abuse while others are trapped in bonded labour.
Philip Calvert is the Acting National Director of Development of International Justice Mission (IJM) Canada, the Canadian partner in the worlds largest anti-slavery organization. IJM operates in nearly 20 communities throughout the world in order to partner with justice systems to protect the most vulnerable from violence and slavery.
He is passionate about how to activate the best intentions of individuals and corporations into tangible steps towards a better future, seeking justice and equity for marginalized people. Philip's highlight in public speaking thus far was being invited to give a talk with TEDxYYC called, "Cybersex Trafficking: Your Phone and Saving Children's Lives (Yes, They Do Go Hand In Hand)".
