Mark Iwanowski

Mark is an experienced veteran in the international technology sector. Mark is currently CEO of MDI & Associates, a global consulting group focused on venture, M&A and turn arounds. He teaches start up classes at Stanford and has been actively involved in several Poland innovations initiatives through the US Poland trade Council including the Top 500 Innovators program and has participated in a variety of innovations workshops and senior government discussions on innovation in Poland.
Mark was previously Managing Director with Trident Capital focusing on investments in Cleantech and IT, Software and Communications. Trident is a top tier VC, with average over $2B AUM and IRR over its first seven funds exceeding 30%.
Mark was also Senior Vice President Global IT and CIO for Oracle Corporation, the world’s largest enterprise software provider where he also helped to build Oracle’s On Demand (SaaS/cloud) services. His team consolidated 95 regional data centers to one Global Tier IV data center resulting in highly advertised ~$1B of bottom line savings story. Mark was also a member of Oracle’s Make/Buy Committee that reviewed all acquisitions and was involved in the integration of over $25B of acquisitions including over 30 early/growth stage companies.
Prior to that, Mark co-managed a Transformational Outsourcing business at SAIC which included a ten year, $1B San Diego County Outsourcing deal (people and infrastructure) and a $500M Build-Operate-Transfer contract with Level 3 Communications where his In addition, his business unit sponsored and managed nine strategic investments in early stage and growth companies resulting in “top tier” VC returns for the company.
Mark also held executive positions with Raytheon and Honeywell and was also a principle in two successful start ups. Prior to entering the startup and corporate business world, Mark spent four years in professional football with the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in engineering from California Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from National University and has received multiple management excellence awards throughout his career.
