Jean-Jacques Favier

Prof. Jean-Jacques Favier has been Deputy Director for Space Technology and Deputy Director for Advanced Concepts and Strategy at CNES and Director of the Solidification Laboratory at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
The originator of the experiments performed during space missions. As Payload Specialist he flew on STS78/LMS NASA space shuttle mission in 1996, logging 17 days in orbit.
He earned a PhD in Metallurgy from the Ecole des Mines de Paris and a PhD in Solid State Physics from the University of Grenoble. Privately co-founder of an innovative company named Blue Planet, which aim is to build a dozen of Earth high resolution observation satellites.
Prof. Jean-Jacques Favier is involved with ISU (International Space University, a kind of "space Harvard") since the very beginning. He is now the Chair of the Research Steering Committee.
