European Innovation Council: Funding Breakthrough Innovation from the Idea to the Market

The Enhanced EIC Pilot is a €2 billion EU funding scheme supporting breakthrough innovation and designed to pave the way to the creation of a fully-fledged European Innovation Council (EIC) under Horizon Europe, the EU’s next €100 billion Framework Programme for research and innovation. 
The first EIC Pilot has provided financial support amounting to €731.15 million to around 1.276 projects. In doing so, the EIC aims at attracting the most talented innovators in Europe through a bottom-up approach, putting their needs at the center of consideration. 
The Enhanced EIC pilot supports top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small companies and scientists with bright ideas and the ambition to scale up internationally. It brings together the parts of Horizon 2020 (FET Open, FET Proactive, SME Instrument, Horizon Prizes) that provide funding, advice and networking opportunities for those at the cutting edge of innovation. 
The discussion will aim to inform the audience about the European Commission’s ideas for the future of innovation funding.
