The US standard agency NIST is running a project to standardize post-quantum crypto algorithm, or algorithms for public-key encryption and signature that would be safe even if a large quantum computer is built—which, we believe, would require major breakthrough in order to appear in the next century. In this talk we'll assess the actual threat of quantum computers, and how mitigations can be deployed using NIST's future standards or other means.
