The Science Behind Artificial Wombs

11:30 - 11:50, 24th of May (Wednesday) 2023/ INSPIRE STAGE

Over 180 million people are suffering from infertility globally. Some forms of infertility are unexplainable, making it difficult for doctors to treat the problem. Recent reports show that despite rising global population, birth rates continue to decline, with over 50% decline in sperm quality and quantity. Using state-of-the-art science, I proposed the concept of EctoLife, an artificial womb facility that could put an end to the infertility crisis across the globe. The artificial womb utilizes biotechnology and artificial intelligence to allow infertile couples to conceive a baby of their own. It's based on over 50 years of scientific research conducted by scientists in the fields of ectogenesis, stem cell research, genetic engineering, biochemistry and various other disciplines.
