Revolutionizing satellite tech with ICEYE's SAR advancements
ICEYE
Rafał Modrzewski is the CEO and co-founder of ICEYE, a pioneering firm that has built the world's largest commercial constellation of SAR-equipped microsatellites. These satellites provide reliable and up-to-date Earth observation data, revolutionizing the cost-effectiveness of SAR technology by a factor of up to 100. Since the inception of the project in 2012, and the founding of ICEYE in 2014 alongside Pekka Laurila, Rafał has been instrumental in driving the organization's growth and implementing its global strategy. His groundbreaking contributions to satellite technology earned him recognition in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Europe list in the Technology category in 2018. Before ICEYE, Rafał explored innovative products at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, focusing on RFID and wireless sensor networks. An alumnus of Warsaw University of Technology, he furthered his studies in radio engineering at Aalto University, where he led the data processing team for Finland's flagship satellite project, Aalto-1.
