Magnus Melander

Swedish entrepreneur and ICT professional with 34 years of international experience. Magnus is Sales Director at the connected car company Springworks, the owner of the consulting firm Wbird, he is co-founder and evangelist at the hardware hub THINGS and serves at the boards of THINGS, Evothings, Clue, April Systems, Possio, Mobile Institute Stockholm and Calazo. His focus is on IoT/M2M and he founded the Swedish M2M Service Enablers (SMSE) alliance 2012, today having 51 members and 17 partners.

Magnus was Partner at BrainHeart Capital, a VC devoted to wireless technologies, which he co-founded 2000 and he is currently advisor to Instabridge, Springworks and La-Yin. Magnus ICT industry experience includes senior international positions with IBM, Apple and 3Com.

At 3Com, Magnus held several senior executive positions, including Marketing Director Europe, Network Service Provider Director EMEA and New Business Development Director EMEA. During his years at Apple he held a number of executive positions including Country Manager Finland, Channel Marketing Director Europe and Channel Strategy Director Europe. Magnus is a frequent speaker at international industry events and writes his IoT blog connectcompute.com and the Internet of Everything Chronicle.
