Jeffery Schmidt

Jeff is the Director of Software Engineering at NAVBLUE, with responsibility for a global team of Software Developers across Canada, UK, Sweden, France, and Poland. Jeff is passionate about building sustainable and reliable software while adapting to the changing technical landscape to meet future industry demands. For nearly 20 years, Jeff has designed, written and supported airline software in the following domains: Flight Planning, Weather, NOTAM, Aircraft Performance, Weight and Balance, Crew Scheduling, Electronic Flight Bag, and many others. Throughout Jeff's leadership journey, he recognizes that Airlines today are challenged by a changing workforce, complex regulations, economic volatility, and a new generation of customers with different ideals. As such, Monolithic applications, heavy infrastructure management, and simplistic API integrations no longer suffice; Jeff's team members are challenged to increase the pace of modernization to meet these demands.
