IKER AYERBE is an adviser and strategist specialized in early stage & growth support policies to highly innovative firms. Over the last years, he has used his skills as innovation policy adviser, entrepreneur and MBA to advise on and implement policies on innovation, start-ups, technology development, digital transformation, commercialization and early stage and scaling-up investment. He is particularly involved with the Horizon 2020 SME instrument, the InnovFin-EU Finance for Innovators equity and debt financial instruments, and the upcoming European Innovation Council (EIC), a highly competitive R&I EU scheme designed to support highly innovative small businesses to develop disruptive and market creating innovations. Previously, he worked as business consultant in a small firm being in charge of leading the international business services in Brussels. Prior to that, he also pursued his entrepreneurial ambition and founded his own company based in Barcelona on one of his passions: digital and creative industries. He holds a two-year Executive MBA in Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management and a degree in Business Science from the University of the Basque Country in Spain.
