Data Science and Excel? - Arla’s sustainability journey to become Carbon Net Zero.

Our planet is facing a climate change. Farming and dairy carries a responsibility, but also a great opportunity to contribute positively and help solve this challenge. At Arla Foods we want to be a part of the solution.

In 2019 we set a goal of being Carbon Net Zero by 2050 and a science based target to reduce emissions by 30% before 2030. But how can we say we reduced by X amount of percent, if we don’t know how much CO2e we are producing today? With this talk I’ll try to answer this question, by showing how as IT, we helped to create a process of calculating carbon footprint for all of our farmers.
