Jon Kern
Pragmatic Agilist, Mentor, Software Engineer, Product Developer, co-author Agile Manifesto
The Adaptavist Group
Jon, a co-author of the Agile Manifesto, is an aerospace engineer by training with a tremendously varied career. He is passionate about helping teams succeed in delivering business value through software.
Jon is fortunate to be at Adaptavist, where he and some colleagues have been creating, experimenting, and refining new ways to help teams and organizations become more capable in facing the complex challenges that seem to be everywhere you turn. Jon has been thoroughly enjoying using AI to produce high-quality, complex apps in new and amazing ways.
Jon shares his very pragmatic engineering approach with teams that he mentors. It starts with a highly collaborative environment that enables effective practices, learning, solid architecture, agile development, quality-by-design (not accident), and laser-like focus on delivering business value.
Jon works on a production Rails web app for firefighters on the side. So he is never far from “practicing what he preaches.” Including the use of AI to modernize the entire stack and create even more innovative user experiences (with BDD and unit tests). NPS scores of 9 and 10 are the norm.
