GENERAL Guidance

Appropriate preparation before the meeting, being on time, and sending promised documents after are all crucial. Remember about it, and you will begin a really valuable relationship. But how to prepare and matchmake correctly?

1. PROFILE PREPARATION

Make sure your profile is updated and detailed. Don't let other users get the wrong impression before you have a chance to meet them.*

2. FINDING THE PERFECT MATCH

First of all, you need to know who you want to talk to. Make a list, for example: investors from CEE, corporations, medtech startups.

3. RESEARCH

Once you’ve decided on who you want to meet, a good practice is to do some research on that person. Check their profile on LinkedIn. Search for their articles and video presentations.

4. INVITATIONS

Send invitations but don't forget to personalise them! Remember to add at least one sentence explaining why you think you and the person you’re inviting should meet.

5. PREPARING KEY POINTS

With your personalized invitation sent, you can prepare for the meeting. Make a list of topics you want to cover, prepare data you want to share, and check if your demo is working.

6. TAKING NOTES

Trust us, you will not remember all the information exchanged at the meetings. Missing it can cost you a lot! Also, making a good impression at the beginning of a business relationship is crucial – it won’t slip unnoticed if you forget what you promised. So remember to take notes.

7. FOLLOW-UP

After the meeting, it is advised to send a short summary covering all the key points. That way, you will make the communication easier for both sides. It is also wise to send a LinkedIn invitation shortly after the meeting.

8. BUILDING TRUST

Appropriate preparation before the meeting, being on time and sending promised documents after are all crucial. Remember about it, and you will begin a really valuable relationship.

* TIP FOR STARTUPS

The first thing investors check is the pitch deck. If you don’t know how to make one, you can use the template that you can find here. It goes without saying that you should use your own branding and fonts.
